Description
Babywearing Movement Class with Growing Up Green – Friday March 20th from 2-2:45 at Studio M (2625 Briggs St) $12, Pre-registration required
Move and bond with your baby through fun babywearing movements and low impact exercises with special guidance for postnatal bodies. While this class is geared for every type of caregiver, there are accommodations provided to protect the healing bodies of newly postpartum parents.Â
As a certified Babywearing Educator and former Kangatraining instructor, Jacole has combined her years of child-wearing expertise with her love of movement and dancing to create this unique class for adults and the babies in their lives.Â
Wearing your child in an ergonomic carrier is of upmost importance for this class, and I will gladly let attendees borrow one of our carriers that best fits them and their baby if they do not have their own.Â
Carrier Criteria:
•Carriers must hold babies in their natural spread squat position with the legs supported from the base of one knee to the base of the other. The forward facing position is not allowed for any ages. Proper head and neck support is essential. All carriers need to provide the adult with support for both shoulders and across the waist.
•Babies who can not yet sit up need extra support for their rounded backs. Wraps (woven or cotton~for babies under 3 months) and SSC’s with an infant adjustment or an infant insert are necessary for this age.
•Once baby can sit unsupported, they can be worn on the adult’s back.
~Arrive 15 mins early to borrow a carrier or to receive a fit check
~Wear comfortable clothes, socks and indoor shoes (or barefoot)
